Eru Creates…
Eru Designs
Eru is an alter ego of Erik Rush, a New York-born artist of various disciplines who creates original art designs using a modified version of an ancient Japanese technique called Suminagashi. The word Suminagashi (墨 流 し) is translated as “floating ink” and is a process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into captivating designs. With origins dating back to the 12th century, Suminagashi evolved into a delicate and meditative art form.
Using an adapted version of this technique, Eru creates Suminagashi abstract art using paint on wood and canvas panels. Each is an entirely unique, mesmerizing design that is impossible to replicate precisely. Unlike the timeless art of the modern master Jackson Pollock, Eru’s designs are more meditative and ethereal. Whether you’re looking for original art to grace your home or business, to view at a show or to raise your organization’s visibility through sponsoring an installation, you are invited to consider Eru Designs.
